The event took place at the University of Lagos Sports Complex.
As a strategy by the Unilever owned brand to spread the word about their recently launched Closeup Cool Breeze toothpaste, Closeup alongside with Mavin records superstar Reekado Banks, Humble Smith and L.A.X has been touring Nigerian campuses, thrilling students across various higher institutions.
Mr. Tolu Salu, the manager of Unilever Plc, said “the company organized the event across different cities in line with its commitment to the creative industry and talent development in Nigeria.
Salu said, “Closeup believes in giving young talents across Nigeria the opportunity to be themselves, follow their dreams and break barriers. It gives you confidence to act on your desires — to be the next big music superstar or entrepreneur. This is why we organised the #CoolLikeThat campus parties across different cities to give an opportunity to young people to showcase their music talent to the world.”
The winner of the event, Michael Jubril, expressed delight at the opportunity to leverage on the event to reach out to audiences across Nigeria with his rap talent.
“I am excited at what Closeup is doing. They have shown beyond doubt that they are the go-to brand when it comes to breaking barriers and reaching beyond boundaries. Tonight I was able to perform on the same stage with Reekado Banks, and I cannot tell you how much this has gone to raise my confidence to do more,” Jubril said.
