The Benson Idahosa University (BIU) Management has appointed Professor Sam Guobadia as the acting Vice-Chancellor of the Institution.
His appointment commences upon the completion of the tenure of former Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ernest B. Izebigie.
This was made known in a press statement released by the University Head of Communication and Brand Strategy Unit (CBSU), Mr. Temi Esonamunjor.
Prof. Guobadia is a Professor of Economics with highly rated innovative ideas in economic development, corporate governance, enterprise development and organizational management.
He has also served as Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Ag. Dean, Faculty of Social and Management Sciences, Head of Department, Economics and Director, BIU Consultancy.
He is a fellow Institute of Corporate Administration (FICA) and Institute of Policy Management Development (FIPMD).
He served as one time president of West African-American Chamber of Commerce in New York and a member of the American Economic Association and Royal Economic Society, United Kingdom.
