Abiodun Olabisi, a female undergraduate student of Ladoke Akintola University, Ogbomoso, has been arrested by the Oyo State Police Command for allegedly stabbing a fresh graduate of the university
The culprit Olabisi was paraded by the Oyo State Commissioner, Abiodun Odude at the state police headquarters, Eleyele Ibadan on Wednesday.
It was gathered that Lekan who is a fresh graduate of Transport Management at the same institution was waiting for his call-up letter for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) before the unfortunate incident.
According to the state police, the suspect and the deceased were cohabiting in students’ tradition of “trial marriage” at Phonix area, Stadium road, Ogbomoso.
Odunde said; “The incident happened at about 8pm on 21/11/2018 following a quarrel arising from petty jealousy. The victim, a graduate of Transport Management who was stabbed in the chest was later rushed to the Bowen University Teaching Hospital, Ogbomoso but died before hecould be attended to.”
Odunde added that the knife used by Olabisi to commit the crime had been recovered after the suspect was arraigned.
He added that a 300-level student of the same LAUTECH, Aremu Mayowa has been arrested by the F-SARS of the Oyo state command for allegedly using social media platforms to lure female students of the university to his residence and mercilessly raping them.
Odude said, “The modus operandi of the suspect was to pose as a friend in WhatsApp groups and other social mediaplatforms, deceiving unsuspecting female victims and luring them to his house after promising to register them in an imaginary dancing school.
