The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has accused the Prof Mahmood Yakubu-led Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of overtly playing the script of the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC by declaring governorship elections in states where the PDP is in clear lead, inconclusive.

The party spokesman Kola Ologbondiyan made this known during a news conference.

Speaking during the conference, Ologondiyan noted that the electoral umpire and the Army were playing the script of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC ).

He insisted that INEC has become overtly partisan and has surrendered its independence to the APC.

He also alleged that the elections were suspended or declared inconclusive in the state where the PDP was maintaining a steady lead.

He said; “under Prof. Yakubu, INEC has become overtly partisan and has surrendered its independence to the APC.”

The main opposition party said INEC carried on as a compromised umpire with obnoxious impunity, thereby sending signals of being heavily bribed by the APC to alter results for its candidates.

Citing widespread disruptions, INEC had on Sunday, announced the suspension of the electoral process in Rivers State, and declared elections inconclusive in Sokoto, Bauchi, Adamawa, Plateau and Benue states.
