Omo agege denies invading senate with thugs
It seems like there's a developing story!
According to reports, Omo Agege, the Deputy President of the Nigerian Senate, has denied allegations that he led a group of thugs to invade the Senate chamber on Tuesday.
The incident reportedly occurred during a plenary session, where Senator Ovie Omo-Agege was said to have stormed the chamber with some individuals, allegedly to disrupt the proceedings.
However, in a statement released by his media aide, Omo Agege has denied the allegations, describing them as "false and malicious".
The statement reads: "The attention of Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, Deputy President of the Senate, has been drawn to a false and malicious report circulating in the media that he led a group of thugs to invade the Senate chamber today.
"For the avoidance of doubt, Senator Omo-Agege was not involved in any invasion of the Senate chamber today. He was not present in the chamber at the time the alleged incident occurred.
"It is imperative to state that Senator Omo-Agege is a law-abiding citizen and a respected member of the Senate, and he would never engage in any act that would undermine the dignity and authority of the Senate or compromise the peace and order of the National Assembly."
It's worth noting that the Senate has also issued a statement condemning the alleged invasion and calling for an investigation into the matter.
What do you think about this development? Should we be taking Omo Agege's denial at face value, or is there more to the story?
