Trinidadian-American rapper Onika Tanya Maraj popularly known as Nicki Minaj has released her long-anticipated music video for Queen Opener, “Ganja Burn”.
The music video tells a story of a queen who resurrects her army after they are tragically murdered. The clip begins with a little card setting the tone of the video.
The clip continues with Minaj in the desert wandering, posing and dancing alone. She surveys a skull at one point and is later joined by a dancing army of men who circle her while also surrounded by fire.
The video follows the theme from the album’s sunset orange filtered Egyptian inspired artwork. The clip transitions to scenes of Nicki laying out in the sand, dressed in a deity-like costumed as an army of men dance around her.
The new music video is directed by Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott.
