Gavin Hunt returns to the FNB Stadium ONLY for the second time since leaving Kaizer Chiefs as he will lead SuperSport United on Saturday.

The last time Hunt was at this venue was in October 2021 when was still at Chippa United as their coach – Chiefs gave him a 4-0 hiding.

However, as a team, SuperSport United will draw positives from the fact that they beat Chiefs 1-0 the last time these two teams met at the Calabash.

The defeat saw Chiefs sack Stuart Baxter, and that decision paved way for both Arthur Zwane and Dillon Sheppard to take over as coaches.

GAVIN HUNT’S RECORD AGAINST KAIZER CHIEFS

Hunt started coaching soon after his retirement in the mid-1990s, and some records from way back may not be available.

However, we’ve managed to find at least 30 matches that Hunt coached against Chiefs with various clubs, including SuperSport United, Black Leopards, Moroka Swallows, Chippa United and Bidvest Wits.

In those 30 matches, Hunt managed just 11 wins against Chiefs, suffered 12 defeats while the other seven matches ended in draws.

Hunt’s teams scored 28 goals in 30 games against Chiefs while they conceded 33 at an average of 1.38 points per match.
