Coach Diego Simeone is prepared to overturn the first-leg deficit against Real Madrid in the Champions League campaign as he rebuilds his team with the inclusion of Jose Maria Gimenez, who is returning from injury.
Fernando Torres is set to feature as Atletico Madrid is looking for a comeback of the 3-0 Champions League semi-final first-leg loss against Real Madrid on Wednesday.
Gimenez was absent in the first leg which Cristiano Ronaldo’s hat-trick sealed for the Santiago Bernabeu side eight days ago due to a groin injury.
He would however play in place of Lucas Hernandez in the defence, as Simeone has an alternative to either start him in the first eleven at right-back or switch to a back three.
Torres would replace Kevin Gameiro, being Simeone’s second alteration in the team.
On the Real side, Coach Zinedine Zidane would bring on Danilo to replace injured Dani Carvajal at right back.
Ronaldo makes the list, as one of eight changes in the Real team which thumped Granada 4-0 at the weekend.
The two sides are likely to adopt same formation as listed below:
