The authorities of the Federal University of Technology, Minna has announced the appointment of Mr. Amos Nmadu Kolo as the new registrar of the institution.
This was conveyed in a letter signed by the Vice-Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Abdulahi Bala, following the council’s approval at its 130th special meeting held at the Main Campus of the university.
According to the letter, the appointment is to take effect from June 12, 2018 and run for a period of five years.
Mr. Kolo who is presently a Deputy Registrar and Secretary, Postgraduate School, will be the 6th substantive registrar of the institution as he succeeds Mrs. Victoria Kolo whose tenure ends on June 11, 2018.
The letter of appointment was presented by the vice chancellor of the institution, Prof. Abdulahi Bala. The vice chancellor also advised the newly appointed registrar to be firm and assertive in discharging his duties.
He siad, “as the Chief Administrative Officer of the University, all matters of discipline are under your office. For you to succeed, you must show personal example and provide leadership. Be firm and assertive so that the control of the Registry Department and the University will not slip from your hands. You must interpret the laws without sentiments.”
“By the time you start selecting justice, there will be problem. Your other colleagues did very well just that we can only choose one person to be the Registrar.
“For you to succeed, you must also look for the best brains to work with,” he stated.
Responding, the Registrar-designate, Mr. Kolo commended the University Council for finding him worthy to be the Registrar of the University, adding that he would not disappoint them.
