Four persons accused of assaulting an official of Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company (IKEDC), Samuel Odukoya, have been arraigned at a Yaba Magistrates’ Court in Lagos.
The suspects who are Jide Taiwo, Emeka Ndubisi, Anuoluwapo Odukoya and Blessing Aloysus, pleaded not guilty to a five-count charge of assault and breach of public peace levelled against them.
While briefing the court, Inspector Roman, the prosecutor, told the court that the accused beat up Odukoya while he was on duty on March 3.
The magistrate, Mr. P.A. Ojo, granted the suspects bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum. He also ordered that the sureties must show evidence of three years’ tax payment to Lagos State government and have their addresses verified.
The case has been adjourned till April 5, 2017.
