Emre Can has travelled with the Liverpool squad to their warm weather training camp in Marabella.
The Germany international has rejoined his team-mates after a spell of treatment on a back injury back in his homeland.
The club’s medical staff will begin to assess the midfielder with the hope he can play some part in Kiev, though training fully in Spain will be key to his chances, report the Liverpool Echo.
The 24-year-old is battling to prove his fitness in time for the Champions League final against Real Madrid in Kiev on May 26, with his contract also set to expire this summer, amidst speculation he will join Juventus on a free transfer.
Can is expected to leave the club when his contract expires this summer and hasn’t played for Liverpool since being forced off against Watford in mid-March.
That lack of game time has already cost him a place in Germany’s World Cup squad.
James Milner will also travel to Spain with the Reds vice-captain expected to be given the all clear to train after missing last weekend’s 4-0 win over Brighton due to a muscle injury.
