Didier Drogba has added his voice to the collection of praise for sensational, free-scoring Liverpool forward, Mohammed Salah.
Speaking to The Sun, the Ivorian and former Chelsea forward said Salah, who had a brief stint with Chelsea while he (Drogba) was Jose Mourinho’s favourite, has always been a good player and they all knew he had it in him.
Salah was sold to an Italian club, AS Roma by Mourinho in 2015 after he was deemed as a flop at Chelsea, and Drogba admitted that Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp has proved a better fit for Salah.
“Maybe now he works with managers who are more willing to give him more responsibility,” Drogba proffered.
“If you look with his national team too, he is maybe the biggest player they have. In Italy, he did very well with a big club and now he has gone to England and he is doing even better. He has been fantastic,” he added.
Since returning to the English Premier League with Liverpool in 2017, Salah has scored 29 goals in all competitions for Liverpool so far this season, earning him a place as one of Europe’s top scorers.
