Popular singer, David Adeleke, also known as Davido has reacted to the announcement by the Independence National Electoral Commission (INEC), declaring the just-concluded governorship election in Osun state inconclusive, urging them to release the result.
The superstar singer reacted to the news in a series of tweets he posted via his official Twitter account on Sunday, September 23, 2018 as the election results from different local government areas of the state were being collated and announced.
He alleged in a tweet that they are planning to declare it as inconclusive because of violence in some parts of the state, just before INEC judged the elections inconclusive due to the fact that the margin with which the Peoples Democratic Party’s candidate, Senator Ademola Adeleke (who is also Davido’s uncle) won ahead of the second-placed All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Gboyega Oyetola, was considerably less than the number of cancelled/void votes.
Davido wrote; ‘they are planning to declare the election inconclusive as a result of cancellation and violence in some p u bc the margin is too close, PDP must fight this injustice. We must come out to say no to this daylight robbery!!! @inecgeria.”
Munching his tweet, he posted on Instagram, “We no gree !! @inecnigeria! ANNOUNCE THE PEOPLES CHOICE! U HAVE RIGGED ENUFF ALREADY AND STILL CANT CATCH UP !! @ademolaadeleke_01 IMOLE DE !”
However, INEC later declared that a re-run of the election in nsome polling units will be held on Thursday, September 27, 2018 to determine the eventual winner between the two leading candidates.
