In a bid to build relationship of equals across the world, President Xi Jinping of China on Friday assured African presidents that his country would provide $60 billion to fund development on the continent.

News from Reuters shows that Xi disclosed this in a forum which he chaired on China-Africa Cooperation with several African heads of state in attendance. He outlined a broad 10-point development plan driven by China.

Xi said; “To ensure the successful implementation of these 10 cooperation plans, China decides to provide a total of $60 billion dollars of funding support.”
