Arsenal boss Unai Emery confirmed that Petr Cech will be starting for the Gunners against Chelsea on Saturday afternoon and both sets of fans are saying the same thing about the decision.

The ex-Blues shotstopper has had some mixed reviews about his performances over the past couple of seasons, including during the 2-0 defeat to Manchester City at the weekend.

The Gunners brought in Bernd Leno from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer but at the moment it is the 36-year-old who is keeping his place in the starting XI and the fact the former Blues player is set to start has surprised several people.

“I am very happy with his performance. He has experience, he has quality, he has the capacity. Also, with Bernd Leno [it’s the same]. They are two goalkeepers who are important for us,” Emery said.

“They have different qualities but for us in the way we want to play, they can [both] play. For Saturday, the decision for me is easy. Petr Cech can continue to start the match, I believe in him. [But] If Bernd starts, I believe in him also.”

But both sets of fans are surprised and saying the same thing about Emery’s decision.

“Agent Cech against Chelsea? No thanks” Ahmet Benli, an Arsenal fan tweeted.

Another Arsenal fan tweeted; “Cech, Xhaka and Bellerin shouldn’t start against Chelsea.”

“Cech to start against Chelsea yeeessss,” Dumi Drexel, a Chelsea tweeted.

Another Chelsea fan tweeted; “Agent Cech to give Chelsea a helping hand on Saturday.”
