The Supreme Court on Thursday set May 17 as the date for the reserved judgement in the case of alleged false declaration of assets involving the suspended Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Walter Onnoghen.

A seven-man panel of the court, led by Justice Olabode Rhodes-Vivour, fixed the date after taking arguments from lawyers to the parties in the case.

The Cross River State Government brought the case before the Supreme Court. It is asking the Court to set aside the suspension of Onnoghen as the Chief Justice of Nigeria.
