What would have been a major tragedy for Bayelsa and Nigeria was averted on Monday morning when former President Goodluck Jonathan escaped death.
Reports from Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital, revealed that some militants drove into the former President’s convoy at Julius Berger Bridge.
The militants were said to have pursued the former president’s convoy to the entrance of his private residence in Kpansia, Yenagoa.
It was at Jonathan’s residence where the militants were reportedly subdued and arrested by the security operatives attached to the former president.
After their arrest, the militants were handed over to the Bayelsa State Police Command.
