The National Working Committee (NWC) of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has suspended Ogun state governor, Ibikunle Amosun and Governor Rochas Okorochas of Imo state.

The NWC further recommended that the national executive committee (NEC) of the party expel both governors from the ruling party.

According to The Cable, the decision was taken Friday afternoon (March 1) in Abuja, by the national working committee based on allegations of anti-party activities levelled against the governors.

It will be recalled that Amosun and Okorocha who both won senatorial seats on the platform of the APC in the February 23 National Assembly election are supporting candidates of other parties for the March 9 governorship election in their respective states.

Amosun is also accused of sponsoring thugs who threw objects at President Muhammadu Buhari and other APC chieftains during their campaign rally in Abeokuta before the February 23 elections.
