A Professor of Mathematics, Prof. Anande Richard Kimbir, on Saturday formally took over the affairs of the Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi (FUAM) in Benue State as the sixth substantive Vice Chancellor of the institution.
At a handover ceremony held at the University’s Senate chambers, Kimbir was handed the baton by his predecessor, Prof. Emmanuel Kutcha, who had successfully completed his five-year tenure.
The new vice chancellor in his acceptance speech promised to complete the unfinished projects started by Kutcha and assured of his commitment to continue to move the institution to enviable heights.
The outgoing vice-chancellor earlier said he was fulfilled, having brought the university to the level it was in the course of his stay at the helms of affair and appealed to his successor to join on the good works his administration had done while correcting the mistakes made.
The new vice chancellor had served in the university for nearly 30 years in various capacity including Dean, College of Science, Director of Academic Planning, Member of Council and Chairman, Local Organising Committee of the recent NUGA fiesta hosted by the institution.
Kimbir who until his fresh appointment was Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration) officially took over from the outgone vice chancellor, at the weekend, precisely, on the 18th of November, 2017.
