About the Show Big Brother Mzansi Bbmzansi

In Big Brother Mzansi (formerly known as Big Brother South Africa), members of the public live in a specially constructed house, which is viewed by the audience around the clock and which also determines who ultimately wins the competition. The show is produced locally by Endemol South Africa and is based on the international Big Brother format.

The first episode of the series aired on M-Net on Sunday, August 26, 2001. After being known as Big Brother South Africa for its first two seasons, the series went on a 12-year hiatus before being resurrected as Big Brother Mzansi in 2014, when it was shown on DStv’s Mzansi Magic channel for the first time.

There are few things better than taking a few months off work to relax in a jacuzzi for hours on end, earning 15 minutes of national attention, and having the chance to win one million dollars.

This is Big Brother Mzansi, and I’m here to tell you about it.

Unordinary people are selected from thousands of applicants to live together in a specially designed house that is secluded from the outside world and is broadcast live to viewing audiences across the country 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Housemates will nominate each other for eviction on a regular basis, and the process will be transparent. The housemates who get the most number of nominations will be subjected to a fan vote. If they don’t, they’ll be kicked out of the game on the same round.

The huge prize is only won by the individual who is left standing at the end of the game.

The game takes on new twists and turns as Big Brother, the famed and renowned persona at the center of it all introduces his own twists and turns along the way.
