Kaduna Secondary School Teachers to Write Competence Test Soon – El-Rufai

Governor Nasir el-Rufa’i of Kaduna state has disclosed that Competency tests for secondary school teachers will soon be conducted across the state to separate the incompetent ones from those that are competent. Kaduna state government conducted similar test for the over 30,000 primary school teachers in the state last year, following which 21,780 that failed to obtain 70% pass mark were sacked and replaced with newly recruited 25,000 teachers. Federation to Take Para-Athletics to Schools

President of Para Athletics Federation of Nigeria, Geoffrey Ogu, says his focus is to engage special schools and vocational centres in the country to take an active interest in para-athletics and others sports. Ogu on Monday in Abuja that the federation would also encourage the government to designate some of the special schools as model centres for physically challenged persons. Drug Awareness Campaign Taken to Schools in Ajeromi-Ifelodun

To curb drug abuse and underage drinking in secondary schools in Ajeromi Ifelodun local government area of Lagos, D Initiative has embarked on a sensitisation campaign. The students were educated about the effects of various drugs and narcotics and how they gradually damage the system. Economy Attracted $30.45bn Forex in Three Months – CBN

Nigeria’s economy attracted a total foreign exchange inflow of $30.45bn between October and December 2017, figures obtained from the Central Bank of Nigeria have revealed. The amount is contained in the CBN economic report for the fourth quarter of 2017, a copy of which was obtained by our correspondent on Friday in Abuja. Ondo Students Protest Anti-Education policies of the State Government

Students from Ondo State tertiary institutions under the auspices of National Association of Ondo State Students (NAOSS) on Monday, protested against alleged anti-education policies of governor Rotimi Akeredolu administration in the state.
