President buhari not involved in dethroning emir sanusi garba shehu

A statement from the Presidency!

According to Garba Shehu, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, President Muhammadu Buhari was not involved in the dethronement of Emir Sanusi II of Kano.

In a statement, Shehu said:

"The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, was not involved in the dethronement of the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II. The decision to depose the Emir was taken by the Kano State Government, and the President was not consulted.

"The President's administration has always respected the traditional institutions in the country, and will continue to do so. The decision to depose the Emir was taken by the Kano State Government, and the President has nothing to do with it."

It's worth noting that the Kano State Government, led by Governor Abdullahi Ganduje, had earlier announced the dethronement of Emir Sanusi II, citing "disrespect to the office of the Emir" and "insubordination". The decision was met with widespread controversy and criticism from many quarters.
