New naira notes pictures 2022
The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has introduced new naira notes in 2022. Here are the pictures of the new notes:
New Naira Notes (2022)
- N50 Note: The new N50 note features a portrait of Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe, a Nigerian statesman and philosopher, on the obverse (front side). The reverse (back side) features a picture of the Nigerian coat of arms.
- N100 Note: The new N100 note features a portrait of Dr. Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, a Nigerian statesman and politician, on the obverse. The reverse features a picture of the Nigerian national flag.
- N200 Note: The new N200 note features a portrait of Dr. Muhammadu Buhari, the current President of Nigeria, on the obverse. The reverse features a picture of the Nigerian national emblem.
- N500 Note: The new N500 note features a portrait of Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, a Nigerian economist and international development expert, on the obverse. The reverse features a picture of the Nigerian national monument.
- N1000 Note: The new N1000 note features a portrait of Dr. Clement Isong, a Nigerian economist and banker, on the obverse. The reverse features a picture of the Nigerian national museum.
- N2000 Note: The new N2000 note features a portrait of Dr. Oby Ezekwesili, a Nigerian economist and educationist, on the obverse. The reverse features a picture of the Nigerian national library.
- N5000 Note: The new N5000 note features a portrait of Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, a Nigerian economist and politician, on the obverse. The reverse features a picture of the Nigerian national park.
These new naira notes were introduced to replace the old notes, which were phased out by the CBN in 2022. The new notes are designed to be more secure and durable, with advanced security features to prevent counterfeiting.
